There is no official best class in VAMPIR, and Netmarble publishes no ranking. What it does publish is a weapon and three keywords per class in the Korean class guide, and the same five names on the global site. The useful question is not "which class is strongest" but "how do I play": long farming sessions, ranged kiting, or chasing single targets. This guide maps the official keywords to those habits. It is not a tier list.
The five classes as Netmarble describes them
| Class | Weapon | Official keywords | One-line role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Viper | Magic orb | Orb, magic, curse | Ancient sorcerer controlling the field with dark curses |
| Grim Reaper | Shadow scythe | Scythe, melee, assassination | Assassin who strikes with darkness itself |
| Bloodstained | Blood-forged sword | Sword, melee, defense | Knight ruling the battlefield through endless blood hunger |
| Carnage | Gun | Gun, ranged, quick attack | Marksman who hits faster and more precisely than other vampires |
| Akasha | Bladed tonfa | Tonfa, melee, pursuit | Melee specialist who steals enemy attack power and clears debuffs while stunned |
The global directory spells the names Akasha, Carnage, Bloodstained, Viper and Grim Reaper. The Korean guide's "Bloodstain" is the same class. Our class directory covers the list itself; this page is only about the choice.

Pick by how you play
| You want | Look at first | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Long farm sessions with little babysitting, staying alive | Bloodstained | The only class whose official keywords include "defense" |
| Hitting from range, keeping targets off you | Carnage; Viper if you want area control | Carnage is "ranged, quick attack"; Viper is "magic, curse" |
| Chasing one target, fast in and out | Grim Reaper or Akasha | Grim Reaper is "assassination"; Akasha is "pursuit" and steals attack power |
| Weakening enemies and controlling space in a group | Viper | Described as the sorcerer who controls the battlefield |
| Undecided | Bloodstained or Carnage | One gives defense, the other range; both are forgiving while you learn the game |
This mapping is a reading of the official text, not measured damage, survival or ranking data. The same class plays very differently depending on gear, blood form and skill order. Run the short test below before you commit.

A 30-minute test before you commit
- Pick your first character by instinct and finish the tutorial. Watch the bloodsucking gauge and your attack range; the interface guide covers the mechanics.
- At the same farm spot, play five minutes on auto and five minutes manually. Note which mode loses less HP.
- Open the skill screen and look at the auto rotation. Does the kit feel single-target or area?
- Play until you die once. Was it something that closed the distance, or damage from range? The answer decides your range preference.
- Compare your notes with the table. Torn between two classes? Roll the other one in a second slot and repeat the same 30 minutes.
Picked wrong? What a class change gives back
According to the Korean class change guide, the change is done in town only. One form, up to three weapons and every skill you own can be converted, and extra cost can apply depending on the form, weapons and skills you select. So a class change is not a free undo: the more gear and forms you have collected, the more the conversion can cost. Deciding in the first hours keeps that bill small.

Three common mistakes
| Mistake | Instead |
|---|---|
| Choosing by server popularity | Popularity is not measured strength; use your own 30-minute notes |
| Assuming a ranged class is always safe | Test early what happens when something reaches you |
| Locking in at level 1 and never questioning it | Try the second class before forms and weapons pile up; the change costs more later |
